Win2K Pro won’t run NT Srvr login script

    Locked

    by mike ·

I recently installed a PC running Win2K Pro and, unlike the Win9x PC’s on the same network, will not run the NT Server/PDC login script.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      Mike,

All of our W2KPro machines run our NT login script perfectly. The only likely thing that can be causing this is syntax that is not supported under W2KPro, but I can’t think what this would be off the top of my head.

Have you tried manually running the login script from a command prompt on the W2K machines? To do this open up a command prompt (start-run-cmd for those of you who are really new) and type \\domain_controller_name\netlogon\loginscript_name

You will then see any error messages that are being generated on screen.

If you want to e-mail me your script and/or any error messages I’ll diagnose them for you.

      Regards,

      JB.

Have you checked to make sure that you’re logging in to the domain and not the local machine?
