Win2K Prof. & Microsoft Photo Editor

By sburt ·
I am currently setting up users in Win2K Prof. with User Profiles. Whenever someone with User rights trys to open a JPEG the Photo Editor will not open. Gives error, "Not able to edit information in the registry". Why is a someone with User rights unable to use the Photo editor and is there a work around that anybody know of.... thanks

Try this -
Give them Admin rights temporarily
have them open it up once sucessfully
then log out
Change them back to normal user.

log back in

I think this is kind of like the Outlook problem of configuring for Corporate or Internet only mail. First time it runs it creates registry entries. after that it doesn't affect it.
