Win2k Reg corrupt/CDROMs inaccessible

My registry may be corrupt. My CDROMs (writer & reader)drives both have yellow exclamation marks and are inaccessible. I can not install drivers for either. Removing them and rebooting is not working. Last known good configuration is not workingeither … how do i restore my registry??
