Win2k server as a relay computer/router

By sabariab ·
I want to make my computer as a relay or a router between the server and the other computer which is not connected to the network but only to my computer. Do I need two network cards in my computer so that the other computer can connect to my computer and the other network card to the network? And how do I configure it?

Win2k server as a relay computer/router

It's possible but you didn't mention why you want to do that? You can use a cross cable to connect your computer to the server (if you need a dedcated connection to the server) or straight cable to a hub then from the hub to server. But make sure touse same subnet for the LAN card on you computer and the server. Then another stright cable connecting to another hub going to the stations on the Network, connecting your other LAN card. Make sure you configure that LAN card with an IP of the same subnet as the Natwork workstations (different from your other LAN). Then you need to activate the RRAS on your W2K Server (your PC). There are enough documentations on the help guide built in the W2K server OS that will help you out.
