Win2K server can’t join NT Domain

by qb4006 . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

Hi folks – This is a wierd one!!!

I have a Win2K server that I am trying to add to an NT domain but it won’t work. There is a DHCP server that happily gives the Win2k server an IP address. When I do an ip config /all on the 2K sever the info shows the ip address, wins info, dns info, and dhcp server ip address but will not log on to the NT domain. the PDC, DHCP server and 2k Server are all on the same subnet and everything in the network is OK except this one 2K server. How is it that the NIC on this server can get an DHCP address but cant communicate with anything? I can’t even ping the DHCP server even thought I have a DHCP address. PS There is only 1 dhcp server 1 pdc and 1 bdc. The 2K server was going to be a member server. HELP!!!
