Win2k Server in NT Domain

By JustinF ·
What is the best way to add a Windows 2000 Server to an NT 4.0 domain as a member server? I need one in a branch office for local file & print & dhcp services but I don't want it to interfere with domain administration.

Win2k Server in NT Domain

By default, when you install Win2K server,
it is installed as a member server. It really
is no different from a NT4 server when
putting it into a NT4 domain as a member
server. If you have the server built
already, just right click on My Computer
then go the Network Identification tab and
click the properties button and add it to
the domain. Remember, you should still
use User Manager for domains to add or
delete users to the domain but you can
use Computer Manangement tosetup
local users on the Win2K server. most of
my servers are Win2K now but I am still
using a NT4 domain.
