Win2k Server & NT4 Proxy Server Trust

By pteipe ·
I have a Windows 2000 server, setup on it's own domain and AD in mixed mode (NT 4 compatible). I have an NT4 Proxy server
on a different domain, but on the same ip
subnet. I need to give users in the 2000 domain access to the proxy server. Simple - i setup an internet group on win2k, and add that group to the nt4 server. I have not been able to get my WIN2k <-> NT4 trust working. Anyone else tried this?

Win2k Server & NT4 Proxy Server Trust

A Windows2000 domain even in Native mode can trust an NT domain. On the Win2k AD server open up the AD Domains and Trusts MMC, and on NT User Manager for domains and build the trust.
Couple questions: Can you see the Win2K domain from machines inthe NT domain? You might want to enable NETBIOS over TCP/IP on the Win2K machine, and register the Win2K IP in your NT4 WINS, or supply the address in the LMHOSTS file.

Thanks for the help. I managed to get the trust working, and those Windows 2000 users over to the NT4 proxy server.
