Win2k server software compatability list

By techrific ·
Howdy all, trying to fathom just how useless MS can be....

Does anyone know If I am missing another software compatability list somewhere? The one here...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/howtobuy/upgrading/compat/search/list.asp

is almost completely useless!!
We are a Government Ministry using commonly found software, and yet those imbecilles have almost none of it listed in their so called 'list'
I cant give an assessment on NT4 to 2kserver without knowing if the software is compatible of course.
Anyway, any ideas?

Can't argue with you about the list provided by Microsoft. I've always gone directly to the software manufacturer to find out if any particular application is or is not compatible with any particular version of Microsoft, not the other way around. The 3rd party mfr. will always know for sure whether they have or have not tested any particular version of their software with any particular version of Windows. They can give you chapter and verse on what will or will not work, whether certain upgrades or patches are required, etc. And, frankly, if they can't then you should switch to another application if at all possible.

Hope this helps!
