I’ve been reading your lists for the past day and have tried every suggestion (including the registry edit).
But to no avail, my IBM ThinkPad 770Z (PII/366, 128MB RAM) was recently upgraded to Win2K Pro. (read: Clean Install), and after installing Microsoft Office 2000 Pro of all things, the unit refuses to power off after shutdown.
The BIOS is the current level provided by IBM. All the power management settings are correct, because they mirror the ones in Windows 98, which is also installed on a separate partition.
As a matter of fact, when I use the Fn+F4 key sequence to put it in suspend mode, I get a STOP error with a description of DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE then a reboot.
I’m also running McAfee VirusScan 4.3a, Client Access/400 v3.2 w/SF97005, Win2K Pro. Resource Kit, Office 2000 Pro., DiskKeeper 5.0 Wks., Adobe Acrobat 4.0 and WinZ9p 8.0. To the best of my knowledge these apps should have no ill effects running on Win2K Pro.
