Win2k Sleep mode

By igp ·
My PC has been power down while working
(I unpluged power suply - my mistake :).

As a result Win2k disabled sleep mode.
Can I to restore this function via registry (not via 'Powermanagement<-Control Panel')

Are to saying that Windows 2000 disabled the standby mode?

If you attempt to go to standby mode, do you receive the ff error message?

"The system cannot go to standby mode because the driver <drive>\<device driver name> failed the request to standby."

If you are, Microsoft suggests the ff:

1) Verify that you are using a device driver written for Windows 2000.
2) Verify that the device itself supports hibernation and that you are using the latest driver. To find current drivers, see the Windows update link on the Web Resources page at http://windows.microsoft.com/windows2000/reskit/webresources.
3) The computer cannot go into a Hibernate mode unless every device installed on the computer supports hibernation.

Hope this helps.

Hmmmm... on the second thought, I might have confused standby and sleep mode. These two are different under ACPI. However, I suggest you check whether "Remote Wake Up" is enabled. If it is enabled, Sleep mode is disabled in the Power Management settings to ensure that incoming calls are always answered.
