    win2k3 AD and application directory partitions.

    Hello,
    I need some help. I am trying to remove one of the win2k3 domain controllers from our domain, all of the roles where moved to different domain controllers.
    When I try to run dcpromo and follow the wizard I get a screen with the following information:
    Application Directory Partitions.
    DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=Domain,DC=com
    DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=Domain,DC=com
    This domain controller holds the last replica of the following application directory partitions.

    I have an option to continue and let wizard remove this application directory partitions or I can remove them using ntdsutil.

    my questions are: can I remove this application partitions by using ntdsutil or dcpromo without any affect on our domain? or do I have to replicate them to a different domain controller before demoting this one?

    Thank you for the help
