Win2k8 Domain (in 2k3 mode) giving Network Access Permissions Verizon card

by timbrewolf . Updated 18 years ago

I’ve setup a new “clean slate” domain that we will be moving to soon. I walked through the install with Win2k8 and have not created any Group Policies at this point.

I’ve added my boss and myself as Domain Admins and moved out computers into a Laptop OU (again, without any additional or changed GPs).

Have had no problems over the past few days, but this weekend my boss went out of town and attempted to connect to the Verizon WAN card built into his Dell XPS and it gave him a “You do not have sufficient permissions to connect to this network.” error message.

I’m no GP expert, and this has me stumped because he should have no permissions issues since he’s a domain admin.

I have a feeling this is related to the default group policies being Not Configured and somewhere is set to disallow external network access. But neither of us have an issue connecting to home wireless or VPN.

Anybody that can offer me guideance and expert knowledge? Thanks in advance!!
