win32 application

By anansimann ·
I tried to download the driver for a lexmark printer for winXP, but when I tried to unzipped it, I get a reject that says "not a valid win32 application". How do I get around that?

Not sure what you are using to unzip the downloaded driver file as there is insufficient description of the problem.

The error message is most likely to be launched by the unzipping program that you are using (note key word "application"; win32 [your unzipper program itself] ).

If the unzipping software that you are using works fine on other files then try reloading the driver file again using a different Internet download location, if possible. If not then uninstall your zip/unzip utility and then re-install a good fresh copy of it.

If none of this above works then you probably need to certify your system to free of corrupted data/control register settings and/or worm/viruses.

There is a high chance that the Winzip self-extractor you downloaded is corrupted or incomplete, try download from alternative site or re-download again.
