      Start/Run, type in dxdiag and hit Enter, click the display tab and, assuming you have some version of directx installed, you’ll get way more information than you thought.

      The most basic method is to right click on your desktop and select properties. It will show your desktop, screensaver and video settings. Some cards add additional information and menus/capabilities so you’ll need to look around for what you need.

      In display properties, click on the settings tab, then the advanced button.
      Click on the graphics adapter tab.
