Win98 and optical USB mouse

By Borg7of9 ·
I have a few clients running Win98se with USB optical mouse. ON all these systems, the optical mouse will freeze for say 5 to 10 seconds, then work again, and now and then freeze completely.

Any idea on how to solve this problem. I tested with a regular PS/2 mouse, and when the USB one is freezing the regular one works fine.

However, I need to find a solution fo rusing the USB optical with Win98

Thanks

Have you downloded specific Optical Mouse drivers fro Windows 98?

Most don't REQUIRE drivers but they are still often available at the manufacturers website.

Download the newest chipset drivers for the mainboards / PCs in question from the manufacturers site and install those. Do the same with system BIOS.
