Win98 Defrag program

How can you know the porcent of fragmentation in Windows 98, before execute the defrag program.

I don't think you can do it without a third party software. You can download a trial version of Norton speed disk. Install it you will have 30 days to use the program before it diables. Speeddisk will give you the percentage before it runs. Or, you can try Norton system utilities. Speed disk comes with it.

Windows 98's Defrag utility is written by Symantec. If you want to get the full utility you will need to purchase it from Symantec at http://www.symatec.com

I believe that diskeeper 5.0 will tell you that. It can be found for a free trial at http://www.execsoft.com/diskeeper/diskeeper.asp

If the % is under 10 , it should tell you. If not, it just starts defragging automaticly.
