Win98 hangs after replacing motherboard

by f_hendrik . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

After changing the motherboard in my computer, Windows 98 does not start in Normal Mode or Safe Mode.If I press F8 and choose Normal + Step-by-Step Comfirmation, all the files in Autoexec.bat and Config.sys load, and I am asked if I want to load theGraphical User Interface and all Windows drivers. After I press ‘y’ to load all drivers the computer hangs. Even if I press ‘n’ to not load all the drivers, the computer still hangs. However there is a jumper on the motherboard that allows me to clearthe cmos. When I do this and in the cmos setup specify that I wish to reset the configuration data, Windows 98 loads, until I turn of the power on the computer, then Windows again hangs.
