Win98 logon failures under Win2k Server

by rr0s3 . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

I have Win98 clients that I am migrating from an NT environment to 2k. I am aware of the similarities AND differences between the two and thought I had accounted for everything. Except for a couple of things that seem frustratingly simple….

1) My Win98 clients are no longer executing their logon scripts. These are the same .BAT files that were being executed daily from the old NT PDC. The files were put into the NETLOGON of the new 2k PDC. I have pointed to the .BATs the Users profiles, have ensured that the 98 machines are logging onto the domain, that the client for ms networks is the primary logon, etc…. Still not executing any logon scripts.

2) Along similar lines. I have specified in the Users profiles that drive Z: is to be mapped to the Users home folder. It isn’t mapping either…. I assume this problem is related/linked to the other, but I can’t put it all together.

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.
