My win98 crashed (invalid page fault at Explorer.EXE at 0167:00401f31),when I tried to restart it wanted to reinstall win98. I used boot disk to get to safe mode, and ran all the system checks I could think of(scanReg, scandisk,chkdsk,files,etc)says system is OK but some dll files are bad.
I have win98 cd but in safe mode it shows no cd drive. The boot disk installs new drivers for cd drive, but I can not seem to get safe mode to read cd drive to fix problems,
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as I have important info I do not want to lose on hard drive.
