Win98SE ODBC Installer message ?

By Don_Diego ·
I'd recently applied some updates from the Windows Updates page (more than 1, don't know which is the culprit). After rebooting the system, I get the following ODBC Installer message, both when initially getting on the desktop, and, when opening Control Panel:
"ODBC Can't load the resource \Windows\System\ "
Anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it ? Thanks.

Jon

Win98SE ODBC Installer message ?

by 22126998 In reply to Win98SE ODBC Installer me ...

Here is a list of the files ODBC needs to have loaded in the ControlPanel\ODBC\About Tab. Make sure you have them all, if not reload or "extract" them from the cab files. I can't help you with that, I don't know which cab it is myself.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\odbccp32.dll
odbccp32.cpl
odbccad32.exe
odbccr32.dll
odbc32.dll
odbcint.dll odbccu32.dll
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\" preceeds all of the files. Hope this helps you trace your problem. You may also be able to import the files from a network or another computer and copy them into your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
