win98se shutdown

a 266 pentium ii is working fine except when it comes to shutting down and rebooting it stops at the windows logo and the WINDOWS IS SHUTTING DOWN. How can I correct this problem?

I use to have this problem as well until I got a fix for it from microsoft update. "Mapped Drives Shutdown Update" You just go to the site and it should be offered to you if your machine requires the update. Hope this helps :&gt

Delete any spaces in the URLs.
