Hi*
I would like to ask do you know how to make a protection on C Drive become "read only" and can't be written on C drive. According to what i knew, some people can do that and they also have a comment to do that. thank you

Do you only have one harddrive in the system? remember that if you do your OS wont be able to write any temp files to it either so you will need another drive for temp files and a swap file. Does this have to do with some kind of security where you dont want others to delete files? There are software programs out there that can protect folders and files. You might want to consider an easy software implementation of that type of security. I'm not sure but i think "FolderGuard" is such a program.

If you share your drive and want it read only, then just right-click on the drive, go down to properties, go to the security tab, and check-mark the "read-only" box.

The first poster is also correct. If Windows tries to create Temp files on the c: drive, then windows will crash.

You should not make c: as Read-only... you should only do the folders as read-only (but again, not system folders or temporary folders -- JUST data folders ; which is really all you should be sharing anyway).
