Window Printing Errors

By kaptandrews ·
I have a Win 2003 File/Printer server with about 50 users on it. We are often getting a Windows error stating that ?There is not enough memory to print?? It also suggests that the network is down or that the print drivers need to update.

For the life of me I can not seem to pin point the problem. There are not Event Id errors that are point me in any direction. Could this be related a page file error? It is very intermittent which makes it even harder to diagnose.

That sounds more like a client issue than a server issue....

I've seen that with big apps like MS Project where the local client is having a bad day and the user has 10 other apps open.

Are these XP workstations?

Are these PCL or postscipt printers?

Are these printers directly connected to the server, or are they lan connected?

Thanks..

for the fast response.

They are all XP sorkstations.

I have 8 printers on the Lan. there are about 4 different types of printers. the one that is giving me a fit today is a HP5si, which is usually my most reliable printer. I als have Lexmarks T632 and T620 that give me issues. All are PCL5 series that I believe they are getting from Windows.

I am incline to believe that it is a driver issue but I have not updated the drivers on the server.
