Window XP will not boot

The XP logo comes on the screen and then it goes to the bios page giving you a list of different runs, but it will not open in anything, just goes back to the logo. We have turned it off, unplugged it from the wall and desktop.

something may have gotten mixed up as to boot device, the boot device order, size of installed hard drives, amount of RAM, video, etc. Once in BIOS setup, make sure your settings match what you have installed, you can also choose a default safe setup and then see if the PC will boot up. If this doesn't work, then something may have corrupted the boot records on the hard drive, if the hard drive itself has not failed. So, if you have your emergency boot CD, boot from it and try the repair boot record option. If you don't have an emergency boot CD, here's a few links to sites that may help:
