Windows 10 immediately closes app

I downloaded an app on my new laptop. It is an app I have on my old laptop. When I click the desktop icon to open the app on my new laptop the window opens and begins to load the app then closes immediately. Is their a fix?

Some require an update to well, without knowing which app, a guess is just that.

I see XP and others at http://atcswiki-beta.greatlakesnetworking.net/index.php/InstallingATCSMon with no mention of say, Windows 10.

It has worked fine for 2 years on my old windows 10 laptop. It just does not load properly on my new windows 10 laptop. Is there a common fix for apps immediately closing on windows 10?

The usual fix is to repeat the install of the app.

However I can’t locate the instructions for Windows 10. Can you share what and where the install instruction you used?

Yes, I did watch https://youtu.be/fr5QxPCYou0 but that’s not text so I can’t copy the instructions here. Also to get to the files I would have to join their group but I won’t do that.

I’d like to help but the instructions are behind a login which I must opt out of because I can’t do this for everyone. Sorry.

I also don’t know what instructions you used to see if it had some pitfalls but there is something at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr5QxPCYou0&t=510s (YOU MUST SEE THIS!!) about changing a setting.

The video looks fairly complete so watch it, take notes and pause/rewind as needed till you find all the install details.

I am a member at groups.io which you have to be to access the downloads. I downloaded the monitor 410 and then the monitor 426 beta. When I click the desktop icon the app opens and says opening layout, when the layout opens, sometimes I can see it for a brief second before the app closes.

I didn’t take notes for the entire video but the run as admin was noted yet I don’t read such from you.

It’s a shame there are no install docs that I can access so my advice is to ask in the groups.io forum now.
