Is there a policy or something that can be enabled to allow power users, and users permission to install applications in Windows 2000.

Windows 2000.

hmmm. yes I am sure that there is, but here is what I do instead since I don't like the idea of user just installing everything.

I create a local user, then add that user to the local "administrators" group. When a user wants to install somethingI have the Switch Users via holding SHIFT and RIGHT clicking on the install executable, then I provide them the user and password for the local user with admin rights. Ocationally I change the pass so that I know when they are installing stuff via Heyna (www.adtkin-resource.com). Or if you really trust your users add Power Users to the local Administrators group.
