windows 2000 advanced server

By support.pat ·
The owner of the company wants me to setup a web server for all the web hosting (I work for an ISP) is this feasable. He wants to assign all the .com's 1 ip address. I am assuming that I need to mess around with the active directory to set the permisssions for the ftp side. Is this correct or is there an easier way.... Can this be done at all???

thanks
linuxman

To use 1 IP address you would have to use Host Headers

You can run on 1 IP, no problem using host headers. For FTP, set up the user account within active directory. Then run the FrontPage server extensions wizard from the IIS Admin. When it asks "Which Windows Group or user account should be the Web Administrator for this web server?" enter the username of the person. That users home FTP directory will then be that of the web directory and will not be able to access higher levels.
