Windows 2000 and DNS

By henkverbeek ·
Hello everybody,

I?ve the following situation. One windows 2000 DC (and DNS server), and a second windows 2000 member server. The last machine has 2 network adapters (one is connected to the network and the other one is connected to a ISDN routerwith a internet connection). Proxy server 2.0 is installed on this server, routing is disabled on the server.

Can someone advise me in the DNS configuration in this situation.

Win200 and DNS Setup Suggestion

by brian.smith In reply to Windows 2000 and DNS

I will assume that the ISDN line is connected to some type of ISP. If this is the case, I would setup Win2000 DNS internally to resolve the internal address's on the Win2000 DNS Server and to forward the external names to the DNS services of the ISDN Provider.

If you would like more specifics, or have any questions, please email me at
