Windows 2000 and VPN

By lisa.parnham ·
I have a windows 2000 server and have set up VPN for users to dial in using internet access.
Each time I dial in it seems to get throught the firewall to the server and authenticates the user. I then get a message that the user does not have permission to dial in. This is not true as all the users have been set up to allow dial in.
Any Ideas will be appreciated.

Sounds like the user may need permissions to log on locally to the server.

Each user that you want to be able to use the VPN must be given "log on locally" permissions on the VPN box. Once you have done this and ensured that the users have been given dial in priveleges you should be good to go. Hope this works!
