When you schedule a Windows 2000 unattended backup by using a standalone tape drive (library), the first backup job completes successfully. However, after you change the media, the next scheduled backup job does not back up the desired folder andfiles. Also, you may receive one of the following error messages in the backup report log file:
The operation was not performed because no unused media was available.
-or-
Operation was not performed, because the specified media cannot be found.

I have only played with the W2K backup a little but here is the problem I ran into. Even though you change out the tape for a blank you still have to tell the system that the tape is available as a scratch. I have not found a way to do this automatically (there might be, I just haven't had time to look) so you need to open the Removable Media manager (look in Manage Computer) and tell it to release/eject/export (sorry, can't think of the right word) the old tape and then load/inventory/import (sorry again) the new tape and move it into the scratch area.
Look over the Removable media management area carefully and it may make some sense to you.
"Magetower" was correct. You must export the drive slot before ejecting the tape, and then import and inventory the media after replacing the new tape.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
