windows 2000 crashes when using word 97

I have several windows 2000 proff. machines which have all crashed when using word 97. The operation before the crash is not always the same. Pasting text into word, printing from word or even opening a word attatchment can cause the crash. I havere-appplied the patches for office 97 and SP2 for win2k, with none of this making a difference.
