Windows 2000 DNS Integration with NT 4.0

By kenny ·
I installed and configuered DNS in a Windows 2000 Server. I have an NT 4.0 Workstation that will act as the "Managing Station". We will use this station to manage the Windows 2000 Server (and other Servers). I need to be able to manage the W2K DNS Service from within the NT 4.0 Workstation. How can I accomplish this task?

Hi,

just install VNC for remote control on the NT 4.0 Wks an the VNC Host on the Server?s you want to Control. The tool is freeware, and it works with NT 4.0 and W2k, even with MS SMS 2.0 on the same Box.

Another solution is to install Terminal Services in the Administration mode on the DNS Server. This will allow a max of 2 simultaneous dministrator connections from a terminal server client (in your case NT 4.o workstation)and doesn't require any additional licensing.
