Windows 2000 Emergency Repair Disk

By sgerencer ·
Do I need an ERD for each of my 20 servers, can I use one for all, is it best to have one for each? Why? I have Exchange, IIS, SQL etc.

Windows 2000 Emergency Repair Disk

You should have one for each of your servers. The only way you could get away with not having one for each is if they all had the exact same hardware and software installed. You probably patch them all at the same time, but your exchange box is going to have different registry than your SQL box. Any time you put a service pack or patch or change the hardware on any of them you need to update the server's erd disk.

good luck
