Windows 2000 Encrypted Folder System

Dear Sir / Madam,

I have a laptop with windows 2000 installed, with 2 partitions c & d. C has win2k operating system and D simply a data partition. Both formatted in NTFS.

One day, my computer crash and I decide to put windows xp on it, but Iforgot that I have an encrypted folder on D partition. so after I formatted the c partition and installed windows xp on it. I can’t access my folder on the D partition. What can I do to overcome this, so that I can access my folder on D partition. It always give the “Access Denied” message.
