Windows 2000 Event Viewer-Getting a Grip

What resource can I use to look up all error events and codes from a WIndows 2000 Event Viewer to try to identify and resolve the problems. Many of them are self explanatory and point to a fixable problem but there are a lot of others which are noteasily identifiable. Is there a central place to look up these errors aside from technet. Thanks
