Windows 2000 Ghost Image

I am a system administrator in a large organization. We are in the process of migrating to Windows 2000. We want to create images that will work on every PC configuration in our configuration. Currently we are experiencing difficulty in that when weghost a drive that works on one configuration, we get a stop error when we use it on another configuration.

What can be done to enable the image to be used on all our PC configurations
