Windows 2000 locking up

by srose . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I have installed Windows 2000 on my computer. Once or twice my computer locks up on me. I can launch the Task List and end a task, but the Task List window will then not close. If I CTRL ALT DELETE again and select SHUT DOWN, restart, the computer will seem to unlock and then reboot. I have noticed that my computer frequently locks when I am using my IE 5.5 browser. I do have both Windows 2000 service packs installed. My guess is that I am having a virtual memory issue of some sort. How should I configure my perfomace options?
