Windows 2000 logon

by trevor.hasenkamp . Updated 25 years ago

In our company we had a PDC and a BDC both running Windows NT Server 4.0. Recently we upgraded the PDC to Windows 2000 with Active Directory. The BDC is still running 4.0. The problem we have is that every now and again some users are getting an error message stating that “the domain password is not correct or the domain controller can not be contacted.” The problem seems to be happening with the Windows 98 users and not Windows 2000. This has happened to several users and with the last user we had to upgrade to 2000 because with 98 the system would only login sometimes taking up to 8 or 9 attempts. We tried different network cards, cable, connection and multiple login IDs.
