Windows 2000 Logon

By stfranciscares ·
Running W2000 Pro my PC boots up with "administrator" logged on. There is one other account on this pc. How can I setup this pc to boot to this "other" account?

Somebody activated the autologon with admin rights (really too bad!)
There are two ways to disable this:

The first one:
To re enable the user id and password prompt for logging on to a Windows NT/2000 computer:

Click START --> Settings -->Control Panel , double-click Users and Passwords.
Click to check the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box .
Click the Advanced tab.
If located on a domain: Click to check the Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Del before logging on check box

The second one is:
run regedit:
NOTE: Editing the registry is risky, so be sure you have a verified backup before making any changes.
Here are the usual entries:

Registry Settings
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: AutoAdminLogon
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)

Then download tweakui from micorsoft and install it. Then run tweakui (control panel) and use the tab auto logon.
