Windows 2000 member server in a windows 2008 functional level domain

By steve ·
We are looking to promote our AD from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 native functional level but we still have some Windows 2000 file servers. Are there any issues having Windows 2000 member servers in a Windows 2008 AD?

Solution?

by Vadakin In reply to Windows 2000 member serve ...

Did you ever get a solution to this? I have a Server 2000 domain that I adprep'ed and added a 2008 R2 DC to. (Not the greatest idea - I know.)

I need to demote the old 2K servers, however, 2 of them still host the software that is the bane of this company's existence - thus they need to be domain members still.
