Windows 2000 (not NT ) STB Velocity 128

Hi,

I just got my hard disk formatted and installed windows 2000. i have a VGA monitor (16 colors) and i have a video adapter card from STB Velocity 128. Can someone pls. tell me where can i find win 2000 drivers for STB, their own site doesn’t have one. i checked scitech soft.com’s display doctor but it doesn’t work for win 2000. i used to have all drivers for win 98. but now, i’m getting crazy with this 16-bit mode.

i thought nt 4.0 drivers would work and tried driverguide.com, driverzone.com and stb.com (stb velocity’s home page). all of ’em do have windows nt 4.0 drivers. but when i download em and try updating the driver through my device manager (by specifying the search location to be the folder in which i placed the nt 4.0 drivers – c:/winnt/inf), windows is not recognising em. it says it’s unable to find drivers for the specified hardware device. pls. lemme know if u can find any drivers or driver detector/automatic updaters for 2000 other than detective 2.0.

ammendment:

I have the same video card in win2k. I used the 98/95 drivers and it works great. Those are included in the other answer.

This card has the Riva 128 ZX chipset on it. You may want to try the NT drivers for that instead of using the STB for NT. Only place I could find them was at http://www.gainward.com/oem.htm

You’ll want to download the
CARDEXpert 128 ZX drivers.

It’s not uncommon to where you have to use a chipset driver to get something to work..Of coarse there’s a good chance they won’t work, but it’s worth a try.

the concept of using the chipset drivers was appealing. i could use nVidia Riva 128 ZX to work for me, but i still can only have 256 colors or 16-bit true color or 32-bit true color; any good accelerators that u know of ?
