Windows 2000 PC can't see PTP network

All of a sudden, my notebook PC can't see the small (3 computer) peer to peer network to which it's attached. The error message when I click on the workgroup is "workgroupname is not accessible. The network name cannot be found." This computer had been working fine for months, but....

Are you using Netbeiu? Or TCPIP?
To troubleshoot, I will recommend you install TCPIP, and you will be able to ping the opponent for testing purpose.

In response to poo_music, I am using netbeui as my primary LAN protocol, and TCP/IP for internet access. The ping worked fine, but when I try to look at another machine using Windows Explorer (network neighborhood), I get the error. Note: I can see the notebook from other machines on the network.
