Windows 2000 pro as a fax server

By joshhansen ·
In Windows 95, you could install MS FAX and then share it on the network so that those that didn't have a modem could send faxes as well. Is this possible in Win2k Pro without buying any 3rd party software? Win2k has fax capability but I can't find a way to share it or connect to a shared fax server. Thanks.

Windows 2000 pro as a fax server

If FAX service is installed on your Win2K and is shown on the Printers folder, then you can right-click on the icon and go to Sharing ... option and from there you can define the users and their respective access levels on the FAX.

Hope this helps and works for you...

I have tried this but it isn't sharable. That would be a great solution and easy to implement if it worked.
