Windows 2000 Pro Remote password synch

We have chosen to deploy remote Win2K Pro to remote users, and have decided to logon to the domain (with the laptop in our possesion) as the user in order to cache the credentials. The user then can logon to the Domain (cached) prior to connecting to the corporate network. Problem is that if the user requires a password change, the cached copy, and domain copy do not become synched. Another related problem is configuring the network logon for a remote user without obtaining the laptop in house.

We want the remote user to gain access to shares etc just as a LAN based user. Any recommendations on a better method.??
