Windows 2000 Pro shutdown problem

I recently installed Windows 2000 Professional, and set it in dual-boot configuration with Windows Me. Windows 2000 Pro is working just fine, but the problem is that whenever I shutdown my computer or LogOff, the OS takes an extraordinarily long time(about 10-12 minutes) to shutdown. This happens most of the times but sometimes the shutdown process takes place very normally.

Please help me out of this!
