My Dell laptop came with W2k installed. Over time I seem to be running slower and slower. What can I do to get the original speed back? Thanks.

The first and easiest thing I would try would be running a defrag and disk cleanup on your drive. You may also want to see what programs are running in the background on your laptop by Ctrl-Alt-Del into Task List and then checking the Processes and Applications tabs. Remove anything you are not using.

There is an easy to use program in the winnt folder called cleanmgr.exe. You can start the program by going to Start/Run and then type cleanmgr and then select OK. Your temporary internet files are probably the biggest problem and this program will clean them out.
