Windows 2000 Professional.

By pbutler ·
I? am currently running a NT 4.0 domain with windows WS and 98 clients. However, I have deployed Windows 2000 Professional to several of the developers. The problem I? am having is that they can?t write to the registry without having admin rights. Obviously this is a huge security issue. Is there a way to run Win 2K professional in a NT 4.0 domain and allow users to write to the registry without giving them admin rights?

If it is only an issue of letting them right to the local registry (on the Win2K Pro systems) you can add the user to the local administrators group. This gives them admin rights to the local machine but not the domain.
