How can I find the Product Key: on CD-ROM Disk?. Couple of years ago, I bought Windows 2000 Pro at Fry’s Electronics but somehow I lost the box with the Certificate of Autenticity and the Product Key with it, the CD-Rom I have it in a CD Wallet with other software. Now I’m using Windows ME Upgrade version after Windows 98SE. Can anyone help me to find the Product Key on CD? is there a way or software to dowload or to buy for this purpose?. I’ll appreciate any information that can help.

    Thank you.

Microsoft decided to do away with the product key listed in the registry, this was the beginning of there fight against software piracy
Check the techrepublic previous posts on this question, there was a post to a similar that listed how to get around this and discover, use search and type in (how to find product key)answer 2 was most helpful and I think it was posted in Sept.

      Did you register your copy?

If so you can call Microsoft Worldwide fullfillment and they can give you a new code.
