By EricPotts ·
How do I or where can I find step by step info on setting up a Win 2000 server for home use with 3-5 workstations?

If it is for home use, you are likely to have more time to redo it if something goes wrong. The setup is quite intuitive and you have server wizards prompting questions, depending on which components or functions you select to install.

It is always possible to go back and add a component or two through the option Add or Remove Programs - Add or Remove Windows Components.

It is important not to leave your server exposed to the internet. You need to have your LAN behind a firewall. It is simpler and more secure, unless of course you are a firewall expert, to have a an appliance like a broadband router firewall protecting your LAN.
