Windows 2000 Server Drive Mirroring

By CWalcutt ·
I currently have Windows 2000 Server running with 2 identical hard drives. They are dynamic disks and are mirrored successfully. When I pull the power from drive 1 (the bootable drive), the second drive does not automatically boot. I know I need to edit my boot.ini file in order to boot fromt the second disk, but this is my dilemma. Can anyone explain the arc path that must be added to my boot.ini file in order to boot from the second drive?

it should be the same as in NT 4

in boot.ini you have that interesting lines with multi()disk()rdisk()partition()

partitions are counted from 1 to 4
disks are counted from 0 to ?
multi should be HDD controler

if I remember correctly, on SCSI systems you have SCSI insted of MULTI

SCSI(A)DISK(B)RDISK(C)PARTITION(D)\<%SystemRoot%>
A is the ordinal number of the adapter linked to the NTbootdd.sys driver
B is the SCSI ID for the target disk
C is the scsi logical unit
D is the partition number, and the first number is 1
